Suomenlinna was built during the Swedish era as a maritime fortress and a base for the Archipelago Fleet. It located in several islands about two kilometres outside of Helsinki City Center. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Finland\u2019s most popular tourist attractions. There is many museums in Suomenlinna (Submarine Vesikko, Toy Museum, Ehrensv\u00e4rd Museum, Military Museum and Customs Museum). Take a ferry from The Wholesale Market. The open-air museum of Seurasaari is located on a beautiful island just a few kilometres from the Helsinki Center. The Museum was founded in 1909. All the different provinces of Finland are represented in 87 well preserved old buildings. The museum is open from may to september. The Ateneum is a major museum in Finland and it has the biggest collections of classical art in Finland. The building was designed by Finnish architect Theodor H\u00f6ijer in 1887. The Old center of Helsinki is designed by architect Carl Ludvig Engel in the first part of the 19th century. Engel\u2019s Helsinki is known for Empire style (or Neoclassicism). Engel designed buildings surrounding Senate Square, including Helsinki Cathedral, The Senate (now the Palace of the Council of State), the library and the main building of Helsinki University. The enviroment of Senate Square is one of the most representative Empire-style milieus in whole Europe. National Museum illustrates Finnish history from prehistoric times to the present. The building is designed by architects Eliel Saarinen, Herman Gesellius and Armas Lindgren. Nuuksio National Park is a big forest about 30 kilometres from Helsinki. There\u2019s wild nature, lovely lakes, green forests, crags and swamps. The easiest ways to get know to Nuuksio is follow marked trails. In Haukkalampi you can find many trials from easy to difficult (1,5 km \u2013 17 km). 1.
