Alvar Aalto is by far the most internationally well-known architect in Finland. Public buildings and private homes designed by Aalto can be found all over the country. On this tour we get to see some of his main works in Helsinki where lived from 1935 until his death in 1976. We learn about his thoughts on the ”problem of living” and on the future of Helsinki’s city center. We also hear about his student years and his theory on the three black socks.
Starting point: Finlandia Hall, main entrance, Mannerheimintie 13 e. The tour ends at the Market Square.
